Full S3 API Compatibility
Versioning, multipart, presigned URLs, bucket policy, CORS, tagging, conditional requests, checksums and S3 Select. Existing S3 tools and SDKs work unchanged. Persistent HTTP/1.1 connections, native HTTP/2 (h2c) and streamed multi-range GETs keep small-request lakehouse workloads fast, without paying for a new connection per request. Benchmarked nginx and HAProxy reference configurations (TLS, HTTP/2) are included. Healthy reads fetch only the data shards with no decoding, and encryption at rest (AES-GCM) runs on a native crypto library. Large objects are encrypted and erasure-coded in 1 MiB blocks as they stream, so memory stays flat whatever the object size. Writes are acknowledged only after an fsync, and a read right after an overwrite always returns the new version.
Erasure Coding and Self-Healing
Erasure coding delivers high durability at a fraction of the cost of replication, and a background scrubber detects corruption and disk failures and repairs them automatically.
High Availability and Scale-Out
No single point of failure. Add or remove nodes without downtime while data rebalances automatically, with shards spread across zones, racks and hosts.
Security, Encryption and SSO
IAM policy-based access control, encryption at rest with the built-in cluster KMS or SSE-C, and single sign-on through OIDC, SAML 2.0 or LDAP.
WORM / Object Lock
Governance and Compliance retention plus Legal Hold. Locked objects cannot be deleted or overwritten during retention, a fit for audit and regulated workloads.
Lifecycle and Tiering
Automatic expiration, noncurrent version cleanup and stale multipart cleanup. Storage Classes move cold data to an external S3 tier and restore it on demand.
Replication, Backup and DR
Async bucket replication, multi-cluster active-active site replication, and metadata backup and restore to external S3 for disaster recovery.
Object Event Notifications
S3-compatible events on object create, copy and delete are delivered to a webhook or Kafka topic, triggering pipelines the moment a file lands.
Open Data Ecosystem
